Tapcon can work for fixed mounts but for full-motion mounts the anchors provide a much more secure hold over time. We never mount into drywall alone. Every TV is secured into the wood studs behind the drywall using a professional stud finder. In condos or offices with metal studs we use toggle bolt anchors. If drywall covers concrete we mount directly into the concrete. A TV mounted only into drywall without structural support will fall — it is never safe.
